Community Schools

California Community Schools Partnership Program

Rios Elementary School applied for and received the CCSPP Grant as a community school.  The Cajon Valley Union School District recognizes literacy as the essential foundation for student achievement and lifelong opportunity. Leveraging the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) grant, the district is dedicated to institutionalizing research-based literacy practices that deliver measurable results.

Strategic Objectives

Our Community Schools strategy centers on a dual-pronged approach to educational excellence:

  • Instructional Excellence: Establishing schools as literacy hubs by integrating high-quality, evidence-based instruction into the core curriculum.
  • Family Engagement: Launching high-leverage family engagement strategies that align home support with classroom pedagogy, creating a unified ecosystem for student growth.

A Sustainable Model

The overarching mission of this initiative is to develop a sustainable foundation that enhances academic performance and community engagement. By embedding these collaborative practices into our institutional culture, we are ensuring a legacy of resilience and opportunity.
Through this strategic alignment of resources, educators, and families, Cajon Valley is cultivating a thriving environment where every student is equipped for the future and every family is empowered to contribute to their child’s success.
